Jane and Grayson started off Drop Dead Diva Season 6 Episode 6 in a tense place.

They were quickly assigned a national security case about a housewife who was accused of treason. They realized that the server analytics company had a hand in keeping her in prison in order to cover up their own company's flaws in its national security programming.

Meanwhile Kim took on the case of the 4 Bowen orphans who were kicked out of their foster parents' house. The parents used the kids to get a free home makeover on TV for half a million dollars.

Stacy thought she was having an evil baby. She also had a baby cake made to find out the sex. It turns out she's having twins! Owen admitted to Jane that he wishes Stacy would reconsider a relationship.

So what happened with Jane and Grayson's relationship troubles? Watch Drop Dead Diva online to find out!

Jane and Grayson have been five seasons in the making - so was it a surprise to anyone that she let "I love you" slip out when she did?

Drop Dead Diva Season 6 Episode 7 covered that awkward territory of telling someone you love them when it might be too soon.

Luckily for Jane, and the viewers, Grayson was on the same page. It took the whole episode, but Grayson reciprocated those feelings.

Grayson: Well it's been a long day, I should get home.
Jane: Yeah, yeah have a good night.
Grayson: Just one more thing.
Jane: What's that?
Grayson: I love you, too.

I must give Jane major props for playing it so cool after she let it slip. No big deal, no big drama. I'm sure part of that was due to having a major emotional case as a distraction.

Jane represented a girl who needed a bone marrow transplant. The nun who originally agreed to it went back on her word because it turns out she was pregnant. A pregnant nun? SCANDAL!

Due to one of Stacy's random and always helpful spurts of intelligence, Jane discovered she could find out if her client's sperm donor father had any other children. There was a sister who could help, but her mother wouldn't give consent.

The 16-year-old sister's attempt to emancipate herself just made me realize how fake Nathan's whole emancipation case was on One Tree Hill. Well, it failed here, but in the midst of bonding, things got emotional and the sister was allowed to give her bone marrow in the end.

Sometimes people need to just have a little compassion for each other. That was a tear-jerking scene for sure and I admired how giving the sister was.

Speaking of emancipation, if Kim is already riding her newborn about getting into Harvard and being a lawyer, that kid is going to want to emancipate from her one day!

Good thing she let Stacy babysit or Owen wouldn't have been able to showcase his awesome baby skills. Between that shared moment and Ellie's advice (okay, and a little booze) Owen got the courage to tell Stacy his feelings. I just loved her reaction!

Owen, you had me at vacuum cleaner.

Stacy

So are you happy that Jane and Grayson dropped the L bomb? How about Owen and Stacy, do they belong together?

Drop Dead Diva Review: The Truth Hurts

$

Remember back in the early Drop Dead Diva days when Fred would tell Jane that something awful would happen to Grayson if she told him the truth?

According to Drop Dead Diva Season 6 Episode 8 that rule may still apply...

Before we get into the whole Grayson truth debacle, I want to comment on Jane's case. That was so heartbreaking what that kid had to go through. When Sam was crying in the hallway, saying he'd rather wear a dress than be called crazy, I almost sobbed. I'm glad he ended up having some great people on his side in the end.

So back to Grayson: I thought we were home free after Drop Dead Diva Season 6 Episode 1, but it turns out there were still some secrets left to tell. After randomly pulling a sock off of Grayson's back that belonged to Paul, Jane decided that maybe she should tell Grayson the truth about Paul's identity.

Paul hasn't been much of a guardian angel, at least not in the way Fred was. He's basically an intern who is really good eye candy. He really doesn't help guide Jane or anything of the sort.

Come on, I have been more of a guardian angel to you than you've ever been to me. I feed you, I dress you, remember last night when you fell asleep watching TV, I took the gum out of your mouth so you wouldn't choke.

Jane [to Paul]

When he tried to level with Jane that he would have to leave if anyone found out about him, Jane was quick to choose her relationship with Grayson over her relationship with Paul. Just one question: doesn't Stacy know about Paul?

It's hard to always know where the line is drawn. For five seasons Grayson wasn't allowed to know about Jane but suddenly he figured it out and things are just fine? I still don't get it.

I have to wonder if Grayson getting shot was a big warning for Jane not to reveal Paul's identity or she'd risk losing what she loved. On the other, more rational hand, I know that Grayson was shot by an unstable, angry man whose daughter was just murdered. Not only did Grayson make him look like the murderer, but his firm got the real murderer let off the hook.

I'm not a lawyer, but seriously Owen WTF?!

Yes, everyone has the constitutional right to a fair trial, but why couldn't Grayson have just dumped his client? Or at least made a pathetic excuse for an argument assuring he'd lose the case.

Why was Owen so persistent? Yes persistence is great when getting Stacy a VIP maternity suite and proposing (yay!) but for letting a guilty client off the hook for murder? Nope, I don't get it.

So was Grayson getting shot a sign? Or merely a coincidence?

Two weeks in a row of endings like that? My heart can't take it!

Drop Dead Diva Season 6 Episode 9 pulled an even bigger punch than Grayson's shooting the week before.

Warning: Spoilers Ahead...

Drop Dead Diva Season 6 Episode 8 ended with Grayson getting shot by the father of a murder victim.

Unfortunately, Grayson was tasked with defending the murderer and even though he wanted off the case, Grayson was still forced to testify about a police violation that let the killer go.

This week the doctor explained that although Grayson survived surgery, there was a small piece of the bullet that was too close to an artery to risk removing. We spent the episode thinking that Jane and Grayson might get their happy ending after all.

Grayson even revealed to Stacy that he was planning on proposing before everything happened! With life being so short, he didn't want to wait and Stacy picked up the ring for him.

Grayson: Stacy can you keep a secret?
Stacy: You know I can. I never told you that Jane was actually Deb.

By the way, Stac good job on keeping that whole identity thing a secret! Jane found the ring in a drawer and gave a nurse her phone to snap a photo of them when she thought the proposal would happen.

Just then I was thinking, oh man something's going to go wrong. What if the memory loss happens suddenly that the doctor warned about? What if Grayson gets cold feet? What if a new case comes up and Jane has to leave? Never for one second did I think: what if Grayson DIED?

Alas that small piece of bullet nicked his artery, he coded and the doctors called it. Grayson is officially dead.

Although a large part of me wanted to throw my remote at the television, I have faith that there is a reason the writers did this. The whole show has been about rebirth and reincarnation, so there has to be an epic plan. The Drop Dead Diva writers have already addressed the matter on twitter

Plus, according to previews, we got to borrow Fred from Mad Men for an episode! So excited to see the OG Guardian Angel back my TV screen. Don't worry Paul, I still love you.

C'mon give me a shot. Just think of me as your new sassy assistant.

There were other things that went on this week, namely Kim's crazy parents and Stacy and Owen's engagement. However, I think right now we're all focused on one thing:

Drop Dead Diva Review: I Hit Return

Wow. I did not see that ending coming!

Drop Dead Diva has been surprising me quite a bit these days - and Drop Dead Diva Season 6 Episode 10 was no exception.

We all knew Grayson would find a way back, we just didn't know who he would come back as...

... and it was a convict!

Grayson: Jane, it's me. It's Grayson.
Jane: This isn't funny and I'm hanging up.
Grayson: No listen, it's me. I hit return. And I'm back.

Okay, okay. Let's wait until next week when we find out what he's in prison for. The important thing is that he found a way to hit return even after they removed all of the return buttons in heaven.

How great was it to see Fred again?!?

I love how he was unable to hide his shock and his knowledge from Grayson. Grayson was like 'Ok buddy, clearly you know Jane, Stacy, and Deb, what the hell is going on?'

Personally, I don't think Fred was a bad guardian angel to Jane at all. But, either way, he has now done her the biggest favor and found a way to send the love of her life back to earth. It's not up to him where Grayson would end up.

What does that say about Grayson's love for Jane that he was willing to do anything, be anyone, just as long as he could get back to her? I feel a collective "Aw" coming on!

Owen was great this week, very caring and attentive. I felt for Jane when she flipped out about Stacy and Owen's stupid argument. Life is just too damn short for all the pettiness that goes on.

I like that Jane was able to find her way back from the dark place after Grayson's funeral by taking over his case and kicking some major ass. She got justice for that woman while taking down a bunch of corrupt cops. I'd say that it a good day for the books!

Plus, it helped Jane feel somewhat functional again and that's the best you can hope for when dealing with a loss.

I wonder what will happen no.  What do you think new Grayson is in jail for? How great was it to see Fred?

For tonight's poll question, I would like to know: Do you think Fred was a bad guardian angel like he claimed?

A lot was riding on Drop Dead Diva Season 6 Episode 11 once Grayson hit the return button into a brand new life.

This development has given the series a shot of adrenaline as it marches towards the series finale (I know, I'm still bummed about that too).

Drop Dead Diva Season 6 Episode 10 was a definite game-changer for the program, as Grayson's death and eventual return into Ian's body brought the show's love story full circle.

Now that both Deb and Grayson have the shared experience of getting a second chance, they can truly understand each other completely. Grayson finally has a deeper meaning of what it was like for Deb when she took over for Jane; and Jane now understands what it was like for Grayson when he found out the truth about her.

The biggest fear I had about "Ian" was that he's not Grayson. Jackson Hurst has been Grayson for so long that I was not sure that I could ever truly envision Jane with someone else. For all intents and purposes, we never really knew Deb; we've always been with Jane.

It's not the same for Grayson, but Ian still has enough Grayson in him to do Grayson justice (but I'm still going to miss Grayson's old body).

Ian very much feels like Grayson. Having Jane walk him through his growing pains and becoming accustomed to his new life and body eases the burden for Grayson and the doubt I was feeling about the return button. There's no second guessing or wondering that Grayson hit return for and wound up in Ian - he is really in there.

Most important, though, for Jane and Grayson, it's never been about the body, but rather the soul as Jane mentions to Ian:

After what we've been through a little thing like Death Row isn't going to keep us apart.

Jane

But the body does matter because aside from Stacy, and maybe Paul, no one else is in on what really happened. Owen, and soon everyone else in Jane's life, are going to see Jane starting a relationship with a man she helped get off death row.

Owen's already shocked and bothered at the end of the installment by Jane kissing Ian.

This is what intrigues me the most: how does Ian get back to being Grayson without being Grayson? Ian might be out of prison, but his stint on death row is going to follow him for the rest of his life. There's no saying whether or not he'll be able to practice law, and they still need to figure out a story for the people in their lives.

With that in mind...

Jane was in a tough situation on Drop Dead Diva Season 6 Episode 11 when she found out Grayson's soul was sent back to Earth in a death row inmate's body.

Between juggling Grayson's post-return growing pains, Jane needed to find a way to set Ian free and clear his name; otherwise, her happily ever after would go for naught because the state wanted to try the execution again.

Meanwhile, Owen and Stacy worked on their plans for the wedding and Kim helped a local dance troupe leader file against a pop start.

Drop Dead Diva Review: Safety First

The second Owen saw Jane and Ian kissing at the end of Drop Dead Diva Season 6 Episode 11, we knew it was going to be a huge problem.

However, rather than talk about his concerns with Jane directly, Owen chose to discuss things with Kim.

Has he forgotten how poorly Kim and Jane get along?

I understand Owen talking to Stacy; Stacy is his girlfriend and Jane's roommate/best friend. If someone is going to be involved and talk to Jane, it would be Stacy. But Kim?!? That's just getting the office involved in Jane's personal business.

Now, I realize this whole drama in Drop Dead Diva Season 6 Episode 12 can be looked at two very different ways. If I were an outsider, of course, I would think it odd that Jane was rebounding so quickly and intensely after the love of her life died.

However, we know that Jane and Ian are Deb and Grayson reincarnated and they have moved heaven and earth to be together. It's understandable that there will be obstacles. However, it's also understandable that they're going to get fed up with those obstacles.

I'm exhausted jumping through hoops trying to make my life look normal to the outside world. I'm done.

Jane

This episode was all about safety. So Kim and Owen were concerned with Jane's safety and well being with Ian.

Then they took on the case of Hank the bailiff after he was fired for saving Kim from a mugging. It turns out that doing so in a superhero costumes was making the court look bad.

Kim: You act like we're walking into an episode of "Game of Thrones".
Owen: Yes, with less nudity and more paperwork.

Yes, that was a Game of Thrones reference on Drop Dead Diva, timed perfectly with the finale!

It seemed like an unfair termination. Alas, Hank kept finding himself up against challenge after challenge until the end. I feel like I have found myself pleasantly surprised by Kim's tenacity and loyalty to her clients in Drop Dead Diva season 6. Maybe motherhood really has changed her?

On to Jane's case: she's the same compassionate woman we have always known and loved. She doesn't stop at the first rejection, she always goes the distance with her clients.

That's why I'm wondering if Jane's decision to quit was the right move. She is never really impulsive, she works very hard and loves helping people. What do you think?

Was quitting the right move for Jane?

Well... it didn't go out with a bang and fireworks, but sometimes a quiet ending where everything ends up where it should be is just the ticket.

Drop Dead Diva Season 6 Episode 13 was the final installment of the Lifetime hit.

Since I'm sure there will be mixed reactions from the fans, I'll get into the lawyer mindset and figure out how I would argue both sides of the case. Were you Pro-finale? Anti-finale? Or will it be a hung jury?

To start with the stuff I didn't love: there was a lot of time spent on the cases when it felt like we should have been saying goodbye to the characters. In any regular episode I'm curious about the court cases, but this week I was anxious to fast forward.

Was there really a need to spend so much time on Kim's case with the guy who believed in Big Foot? Then there were Jane and Owen, who were at each other's throats the whole time and the whole extradition issue.

In the end, obviously both of the aforementioned cases served the purpose of representing something about the characters. For Kim, it was the fact that after six seasons, she learned to just enjoy things as they are. She learned to stop thinking so practically when it came to matters of the heart and passion.

When you surprise yourself, I saw celebrate the moment, don't punish yourself for it.

Owen [to Kim]

For Jane and Owen, it was obviously representative of the fact that they were in a huge fight.

If Jane and Owen weren't getting along, how was Stacy supposed to have her dream wedding with her lifelong best friend by her side? Jane made a decision that people didn't like and they had to deal with the fact that she is strong-willed and was standing by her choice.

Of course, we know the real reason, but as a good lawyer sometimes you have to learn to argue around the one thing that would clear everything up. For instance, in Legally Blonde (by the way, I think Jane would approve of this reference) Elle Woods knows her client's alibi, but if she used it in court, it would have ruined her client's business reputation.

As a smart lawyer, Elle had to figure out how to argue around that and still win the case.

For Jane, she needed to figure out a way to get the people in her life to accept Ian without telling them that he was really reincarnated Grayson. Maybe this is a ridiculous analogy, but it's just what came to mind!

This doesn't have to make sense to you. This is my life. And I'm gonna live it the way I want.

Jane

So in the end, even though the cases took up too much time, they did serve a purpose in furthering the stories of our central characters. Kim found love. Jane and Owen hashed it out in time for the big day.

I loved that Stacy had her babies. Teri's reappearance was great. But the moment we all cared the most about was Deb and Grayson... or as they are known today: Jane and Ian. They are soul mates who have been to hell (really heaven) and back for each other. This is their moment.

Plus, the series ending in a way that it would be able to come back if optioned by another network.

So how would you vote in terms of the Drop Dead Diva Series finale?
