When it's true love, you just know. | permalink

Jane is not your average person. She’s defied her own odds, and her "One Shot" has doubled to two.

The character's second shot gives her unique insight, as she tends to live her life with an outlook of morality and positivity. She knows Stacy broke the girl code and, maybe if Jane was still Deb, that might have mattered - but Jane isn’t in that spot in her life anymore.

Jane's New Client

Jane’s lost too much and been through too much to let the smaller things in life bother her; the girl code is one of the things that’s left behind. Stacy’s right. Jane knew it too: she doesn’t love Owen, not in the same way she loves Grayson, and it’s time for her to finally accept what’s in her gut. It’s just unfortunate that Jane and Grayson are continually locked in this back and forth of proclamations.

It’s time to make the decision: are they destined to be together or not? It’s time for Drop Dead Diva to answer that question as well.

Jane’s witness protection case echoed this same topic. Becca and Neil were willing to start entirely new lives together while leaving their old ones behind. Their case was akin to the series.

Getting back to Jane and Stacy, they had a fight and made up. I wish Drop Dead Diva Season 5 had gone a little longer with the fight for some more drama and development, but the with the show hitting the return button from cancellation it’s probably better for the series’ long term health that one of its core relationships comes out of this relatively unscathed; and there was a nice montage out of the deal as well.

Stacy and Owen do not bother me. Any potential coupling actually gives them something to do aside from being Jane’s best friend and being Jane’s ex-fiancé. There wasn’t any kind of jealously, insecurity or nastiness involved from either them. Stacy’s looking for a sperm donor and feelings for Owen developed; at that point both Jane and Owen had moved on. It’s still too early to tell if Stacy and Owen will actually end up anywhere.

The B-Story with Owen being so protective of Ashley provided great insight into the type of father Owen will be. He was kind to her and lent her his ear when no one else was listening. Ashley just wanted to go to college and get her degree before continuing her career, and Owen offered her a solution (with a little bit of scheming) that no else did... something a father might do.

What did you think, is Jane and Stacy's relationship that easily repaired? Or is the damage still done? Will Grayson and Jane ever get together?

Drop Dead Diva Alive With A Sixth Season Order From Lifetime!

Drop Dead Diva is nowhere near death.

Lifetime announced this afternoon that the Josh Berman-created series, which airs its season five finale on November 3rd, will be back for a sixth season of 13 episodes.

Jane's New Client

It was just last year that the series was cancelled but that decision was later reversed and the fifth season has been performing well for the network, even being used to help launch freshman series, The Witches Of East End.

According to today's press release regarding the fifth season finale, a 'surprise visitor' from the past will jeopardize the future of Jane (Brooke Elliott, above) and Grayson (Jackson Hurst).

Drop Dead Diva airs Sundays at 9pm on Lifetime.

Bobbi Dobkins is back... and she's got herself into quite a scandal.

On Drop Dead Diva Season 5 Episode 12, Deb's mother makes a reappearance when she's arrested and need's Jane's help.

However, this wasn't exactly a case she felt comfortable going to her daughter's ex-boyfriend for.

Grayson in Wyoming

So what could be so embarrassing that Bobbi wouldn't ask Grayson for help? You know, getting arrested for allegedly soliciting sex can be pretty awkward. Especially when we found out the reason Bobbi had such an insatiable sexual appetite.

Let’s just say I’ve been experiencing a bit of a sexual renaissance. | permalink

You go girl! Well, it turns out that Bobbi felt like the flame had gone out and she needed a shock to her G spot in the form of collagen. Normally this a procedure we hear about on one of the Real Housewives franchises. Bobbi had a one in a million side effect situation and was having spontaneous orgasms. That's why she needed to frequent cougar night and find a young stallion who could keep up with her.

Who would seriously think that Bobbi paying for her own drinks and offering for dance lessons in exchange for an orgasm really meant that she was trying to solicit a gigolo? Deb loves dancing and she offers dance lessons to everyone. That video just looked like a women who was... how can we put this directly...  horny.

The scene with Bobbi and Jane at the end was very touching. She never thought Grayson would look at anyone the way he looked at Deb. Then she saw the way he looked at Jane and realized that perhaps there isn't just one soul mate for a person. Her teary-eyed blessing made me a little emotional. Then of course, just as Jane is about to admit her feelings, Stacy came rushing in with an emergency.

Obviously what happened to Jane's mom is an emergency, there's no denying that! But dammit, I am sick of the constant interruptions with Jane and Grayson. It's been five seasons, can we get this going already? We just find out about Drop Dead Diva's season 6 pickup so is it possible that the writers wrote next Sundays' season finale as a series finale?

I don't think I'm alone when I say it is about time these two get together. Elsewhere, Owen's gesture in yoga class was equally hilarious and adorable. I see Stacy's reasoning for breaking up with Owen; she is simply afraid and I think everyone gets scared in relationships from time to time. However, I find myself hoping that these two work it even.

Go figure, a few weeks ago I was anti-Stacy and Owen, but now I can see these two being happy together. The sperm donor train has already left the station, so I guess it seems like they should give it a fair shot if it's there. Also, great nod to the Lululemon see-through pants scandal.

What about you guys? What are you predictions for the Drop Dead Diva season 5 finale?

Drop Dead Diva Creator Teases Season 5 Finale, Season 6 Renewal

Usually, at the end of a Drop Dead Diva season, fans (and the show’s cast and crew) are on pins and needles waiting to hear if the show will be renewed - but not this season.

Lifetime handed down a sixth season renewal recently and, among others, creator Josh Berman couldn’t be more excited.

In fact, he already has big plans for next season and, as he told me last week, we’ll see some of the seeds on Drop Dead Diva Season 5 Episode 13 including more Paul, more with Owen and Stacey and, of course, more with Jane and Grayson.

Jane Takes An Amish Case

TV Fanatic: I feel like the renewal news came so early this time as opposed to pretty much every other year.

Josh Berman: It’s crazy. It took all of us by surprise how early it came.

TVF: Were there big discussions going on?

JB: I kept hearing how happy everybody was creatively with Drop Dead Diva this season so that made me feel really, really good and I knew that they were excited about some ideas I had floated for next season but I didn’t know that the pick up was coming until right before it happened.

TVF: I’m guessing this finale for season five was already done before you knew about season six, right?

JB: Yes. And there’s an awesome cliffhanger at the end of season five so I was hopeful. Our ratings were so strong this season that I was very hopeful that there was going to be a season six so I actually used the last episode to platform the potential season six so thankfully my hunch was right. We got picked up.

TVF: Jane’s mother – played by Faith Prince – pops up this week. What does that story bring to Jane’s journey in the finale?

JB: Without giving anything away I would say that certainly this time Jane’s mother takes a more serious role on Drop Dead Diva and just as Deb’s mom in the last episode helped convince Jane that she should come clean with Grayson, Jane’s mom does the same thing but in an unexpected way.

TVF: Talk about this journey with Jane and Grayson all season. It feels like maybe they’re on the same page at the same time about things. What will we see?

JB: I think that it’s the first time in five seasons that they’re on the same page and that gives a great foundation to start season six. And a lot of viewers were complaining that Jane spent season five mourning, that she was ‘sad Jane’ all of a sudden, and the truth is, life has its ups and downs and Jane had to take a real significant detour in season five.

She thought she was going to marry Owen. She thought she had put her feelings away for Grayson and, in the last minute, obviously right before she was about to get married, everything changed and then she kissed Grayson in front of her fiancé, which is a pretty awful thing for a character that’s so good to do. So she was living with the repercussions of her actions and she was in a real funk. And it took a season for her to probably shake that funk off and now I think season six we’re going to see a new, more empowered diva. A happier, empowered diva.

TVF: And there’s also, as usual, a cavalcade of great guest stars in this final episode. They kept popping up one after the other!

JB: I have been trying to get Doug Savant on the show since the first episode of the series and he’s said when the right role comes along he wanted to come on Diva and then when he read the part of the Amish man, he finally said yes. And then also Peri Gilpin from Frasier. I always wanted to work with Roz and I loved the fact that she was willing to come on for a day.

TVF: And I’ve always been a fan of Rebecca Mader, who plays the dominatrix.

JB: Oh my God. She’s amazing. She was so good. When we saw her audition it was like, ‘Okay. I’m in love with her.’and that accent is so beautiful.

TVF: I have to say that I just love how Paul (Justin Deeley) has become such a part of the show and I really hope he’s back for season six.

JB: Oh. Paul is definitely back. Actually you’ll be the first place I confirm it but I will confirm that Justin Deeley is coming back for season six.

TVF: Yay! That’s good news.

JB: Justin Deeley as a human being is an amazing person. The sweetest guy in town and a great actor and he’ll actually have a bigger role in season six because what I love about him as Paul is he’s a rule breaker. He doesn’t care about the rules. It’s just like Deb in real life didn’t care about the rules and that’s exactly what Jane needs because she’s been following the rules for five years. Now let’s break her out of her shell.

[Justin Deeley further teased: Paul had a nice arc as far as a seemingly careless, nomadic angel and then he slowly began to understand how important Jane was to him...it all comes full circle in the finale.]

TVF: Were you sure that Paul would click with everybody?

JB: Obviously we had Ben Feldman on the show for the first three seasons and he was really hard to replace so we went completely different way [with] Carter MacIntyre in season four and we always envisioned that role as just a one-year role and it was a very different kind of angel. It was the professional, lawyer-like angel.

I think with Paul we’ve gone another direction completely, which is a male version of Deb. He is as shallow as Jane was before her transformation and I think that in that and in falling in love with Deb it’s the same way you fall in love with Paul and I hoped that he would gel with everyone.

One unexpected combo that I never saw was I never really envisioned a scene between Owen and Paul but in episode eleven of season five they were in a scene together and they were so funny that I expect to write a lot more scenes for the two of them together.

TVF: And I have to say I was a little worried that if Owen and Jane didn’t work out, Owen might fall to the wayside but you’ve kept him around in a real organic way, too.

JB: Oh yeah. For him to come to the firm and never really know if his intentions were about Jane or he said it was because he wanted a more stable environment but either way, having him as her partner at the firm ended up working out really well.

TVF: And also his story with Stacy (April Bowlby). I really like the two of them together whether it becomes a bigger romantic thing or not. They work well together.

JB: It’s so funny that you say that, Jim, because when I first started introducing that storyline, viewers were so mad - and understandably so - but then when we explained the rationale for it as Stacy broke up with him, now people are Tweeting me and upset that we broke them up. So I think it’s interesting and next season we will be playing with that relationship as Stacy gets further along in her pregnancy.

The Drop Dead Diva Season 5 finale airs tonight at 9 p.m. on Lifetime.

Drop Dead Diva Review: The Secret's Out

Thank you, Drop Dead Diva writers, because that is how you do a season finale!

On Drop Dead Diva Season 5 Episode 13, Jane's mother Elaine came back to town with bad news.

She also revealed that she's known Jane's secret this whole time.

Jane & the Farmer

People have wondered over the course of the series how Jane's friends and family wouldn't automatically realize that Jane was completely different. Clearly, getting shot can change a person, but wouldn't those closest to her notice that she was basically an entirely new person?

Apparently her mother did. It's unfortunate that it took until Elaine's last dying words to let Jane know that she knew her secret and she was okay with it. That was such an emotional and touching scene. I'll let Elaine's words speak for themselves.

You’re not my daughter, ever since you were shot. I never read Alice in Wonderland to you. A mother knows her child. You’re not the same Janey, but you’re still my Janey. And in ways I never imagined, I love you. Whoever you are.

Elaine [to Jane]

Rest in peace to a lovely woman with a fierce and independent spirit, a spirit that Grayson recognized in Jane as well, even though she and Elaine weren't truly biologically related. It goes to show that environment and the people one surrounds him or herself with can really shape a person.

Elaine may not have been her true mother, but she had an impact on her life. I just felt bad that Brittney didn't get a chance to say goodbye.

Speaking of Brittney, her timing sucks. We finally got our big Jane and Grayson kiss only for it to be interrupted! But c'mon, did you expect anything else? The finale had to end on a cliffhanger note. Now we have all of Drop Dead Diva season 6 to explore Jane and Grayson's relationship!

Elsewhere this week, Stacy and Owen are starting to grow on me. Teri was hilarious hitting on the Amish man and Jane's case was very Erin Brockovich. I think in an episode where emotions weren't so heightened, I would've been able to focus on the cases more.

What did you all think of the Drop Dead Diva season 5 finale? Was it everything you hoped for?

Drop Dead Diva Preview: Josh Berman on the Reveal of Secrets, A "Reward" For Loyal Viewers

Will they or won't they... for good this time?

While we've gone back and forth on the romantic roller coaster of Jane and Grayson on Drop Dead Diva, the sixth and final season begins tonight (with two back-to-back episodes, no less).

And now that Grayson knows Jane is really his former girlfriend Deb (who he thought died years ago - but whose soul ended up in the body of Jane), will the twosome finally be together? O will the truth too much for Grayson to bear.

As heavy as all that sounds, however, expect the beloved series to include some fun stories, such as pairing up light-hearted angel Paul with fiery assistant Teri, as well as having a pregnant Stacy dealing with her feelings for her baby Daddy (and Jane's ex) Owen.

To find out what we'll see on Drop Dead Diva Season 6, I went right to the source, creator Josh Berman, who gave me a preview of what's in store:

------------------------------------------------------

TV Fanatic: Knowing this is the final season, did it change how you approached these episodes knowing you definitely had an endgame to work towards or is it kind of business as usual?

Josh Berman: I think that what’s great about season six is we’ve had five seasons to lead up to it to say the obvious. And we ended season five with the cat out of the bag and nothing is more freeing for a writer than to have a game changer five seasons in.

We had to platform the relationship between Jane and Grayson over a certain number of seasons and the idea that I knew we had a season six at the end of last year and that I could actually tell the stories I wanted to tell is so rewarding. I’m a TV fan. I love TV.

I watch TV every night and I want the fans to come away with a rewarding experience. Nothing is worse when a storyline is cut short. Quite honestly, there are plenty of shows out there today where they introduce a character or they introduce a storyline and then it just disappears. I get frustrated when that happens as a viewer and for those fans, those loyal fans that have stayed with the show for five seasons, season six is the reward for hanging in there that long.

This is what you wanted to see. This is what happens when the cat is out of the bag. This is what happens when the truth gets told and whether the secrets are pretty or ugly, they’re not secrets anymore and that leads to a lot of unexpected changes. I think we get to spend more time with our characters this season. I think the emphasis is more on our characters than on the cases.

We’ve had some seasons where the cases were very heavy and of course, we always have legal cases, but they’re more in the background this season because Jane and Grayson and Owen and Stacy, those characters live and breathe and they take up more space as we’ve gotten to know them and they’re more fun to write and the actors are having a blast. I mean, this is the season to watch.

TVF: And we’re starting in March this time when your season premiere is usually June. What do you make of that?

JB: It’s been June and then last year, we had half our season on in fall so I think we’re at Drop Dead Diva for all seasons these days. I love the fact that Lifetime feels comfortable that our fans will show up no matter where they put us.

TVF: Since, in many ways, we can’t get too far into the Jane/Grayson story without spoiling it [having seen the episode, trust me!] But let’s talk about Stacy and Owen. At first, I didn’t see that happening, but then once you guys actually did it I was rooting for them! I kind of like them together.

JB: This is why I love the fans. When Owen and Stacy started gravitating towards each other, there was fan outcry and I got hundreds of tweets from angry fans saying ‘how dare you!’ ‘they’re sacred,’ ‘the girl code’ and I kept saying ‘be patient, be patient, be patient’ and now when we broke them up in the season finale, I got as many, if not more, fans going ‘how can you rip them apart.’

They belong together so I think will they or won’t they becomes an important element of season six and I do think that Owen and Stacy, oddly, are very right together and the fact that she’s now pregnant with his baby is going to be a catalyst to see whether or not they’re meant for each other.

TVF: I’m very happy that Justin’s back as Angel Paul.

JB: Well, of course, the joke is that Justin never has clothes on on the set, even when he’s just walking around now. And it’s great because Geography Club [the indie film that Deeley appears in as a closeted teen athlete] got nominated for a GLAAD Media Award and we got nominated again. This is our fourth year in a row being nominated by GLAAD. I mean, the fact that we did gay sports before everyone starting coming out, it’s so weird.

TVF: I mean, Justin doing the ‘bend and snap’ from Legally Blonde in the first episode…it’s so funny. Is there a Paul-centric story other than him just helping Jane and helping out around the office?

JB: There’s a lot of Justin/Margaret Cho storylines this season so the two of them are so funny together. We kind of didn’t realize that until the end of last season. So now Paul gets into trouble and Margaret (who plays Teri) tries to rescue him and they have tremendous chemistry and hilarious hijinks…Margaret’s bigger this season than ever before especially in the first seven episodes and she has more story. She is more involved and she is so, so funny. You’ll get to meet her alternate personality this season. Her name is Cassandra Muffintop and she’s British. Cassandra Muffintop is another one of her alternate personalities.

TVF: What else is coming in the new episodes?

JB: We have Belinda Scotto, a new character played by Virginia Williams, who we love, and she becomes our temporary lawyer while Kim is out on maternity leave and Kate [Levering] is out on maternity leave. But Kate does come back as Kim starting in episode three. It was really funny because I just had such a feeling that Kate was going to get pregnant and so I wrote that in as a storyline and I told her ‘you’re going to get pregnant’ and she’s like ‘great, I want to get pregnant.’ And then she got pregnant. Now I wonder if April will get pregnant in real life.

TVF: That would be hilarious.

JB: And we have Corbin Bleu in the second episode back. He’s so amazing. And we have tWitch from So You Think You Can Dance and they play brothers. They’re amazing together.  It’s one of my favorites because it’s very emotional and those two actors are terrific.

TVF: Any other guest stars?

JB: Rick Springfield in episode three. He’s amazing and then we have John Ratzenberger coming back later in the season. And we have Janel Parrish from Pretty Little Liars. She is a cheerleader and she’s in a cheerleading outfit and everything. It’s so much fun.

Drop Dead Diva premieres with back-to-back episodes tonight starting at 9/8c on Lifetime.

Drop Dead Diva Review: Facing The Truth

After five seasons of Jane hiding her identity from Grayson, he finally found out at the end of Drop Dead Diva season 5

When we kicked off Drop Dead Diva Season 6 Episode 1, Jane was chasing Grayson to try and talk to him but he was reluctant to see her.

Owen even informed Jane that a pale, disheveled Grayson asked for time off.

Feeling stressed, Jane threw herself into a pro bono case with a lunch lady who is fighting a superintendent's ruling. As it turns out, Jane's client had a false identity. She was running from the feds for 10 years after she stole a bunch of bullets from the military.

Her reason? Her son died in Iraq and she didn't want more people to die in the war. The bullets she stole could only be used in military weapons so she couldn't resell them to a secondary party. She merely stole the bullets as a statement and thus got a reduced sentence.

In between all of the drama at the firm, the lawyers have all shown that they are still able to support each other. Despite the fact that Grayson is still struggling to talk to Jane in Drop Dead Diva Season 6 Episode 2, he was able to help her with her new murder case.

The problem with this case? Owen was the judge who ruled on it eight years prior. He and Jane went head to head but with Grayson's helpful tip, Jane presented new evidence and Owen backed her up.

I know you and the intensity of your belief made me think twice.

Owen

Things in Owen's world are a bit complicated with Staci having his baby. She turned him down for a romantic relationship, but I think a part of her does want to pursue things. However, in the first episode she accepted a date from handsome guest star Colin Egglefield. Little did she know that Colin was playing Owen's trouble brother!

Staci making out with her new baby's uncle? Too close for comfort! Staci and Paul later teamed up to find Owen a potential love interested and landed on Belinda, the firm's new lawyer. Staci and Paul always provide great comedic relief on Drop Dead Diva and they are even better when they act as a team.

So now onto the stuff that everyone really wants to know about: Jane and Grayson. After spending the first episode avoiding Jane to clear his head, Grayson finally confronted her about never telling him the truth. It was made worse with the fact that she trusted Staci enough to tell her.

Jane said it was against the rules. Remember in the early days when if Jane told Grayson the truth something bad would happen to him? What happened with that? Is it different if Grayson finds out on his own? They had a poignant heart to heart in his office where they both laid it all on the table.

Grayson: You really thought I was so shallow that I wouldn't love you in another body? I would've walked through fire to get you back, in any shape or form because I loved you so damn much. Did you really not know that?
Jane: I never thought of it that way.
Grayson: I think it was easier for you to see me in pain than risk rejection. You underestimated me. You underestimated us.

In the end, Grayson said that he loved both girls, Deb and Jane. He feels like he buried Deb already but he wants to go on a date with Jane and get to know her, the real her. And with that... a collective sigh is heard from longtime fans of the show.

Are you happy Grayson and Jane are finally going out on a date?

Drop Dead Diva Review: New Taste Buds

Eighties heartthrob Rick Springfield guest starred on an all new Drop Dead Diva. It doesn't get much better than that.

On Drop Dead Diva Season 6 Episode 3, Jane took on the case of rock star Liam Matthews, played by Springfield.

Defending a Rock Star

For a rebel rock star, Matthews was actually quite charming. I mean, he punched that paparazzi in the face, but sometimes paparazzi should be punched in the face... so it's a draw.

The same charm could not be said of Jane's co-counsel and new coworker, Belinda. She initially did a good job on her previous case with Grayson. She even went on an enjoyable date with Owen. However, it seems Belinda doesn't play all that nicely with coworkers of the same sex.

After immediately declaring Matthews to be her client and telling Jane to keep her paws off, Belinda barely consulted with Jane, relied on her short skirt and body for attention in court, and overall acted like a possessive bitch. Honestly, she might as well have peed around Liam like a dog to mark her territory!

The straw that broke the camel's back was when she screamed at Jane in the middle of the office. Not only is that inappropriate in a work forum, but Belinda clearly needed to be reminded that she just started at Harrison & Parker and Jane is a partner.

Liam never would have won his case or got the medical treatment if he needed if it weren't for Jane. Glad that Owen gave her the boot. Besides if Jane was begging for Kim back, you know Belinda must've been really unbearable!

So after all of the truth bombs that got dropped in the two part season premiere, Grayson asked Jane if she'd like to go on a date at the end of Drop Dead Diva Season 6 Episode 2. This week was set to be all butterflies and googly eyes.

Grayson: I'll bring some of that fruity Pinot Grigio you like.
Jane: Oh no, I mean that's actually really thoughtful since that's what I used to drink, but my new taste buds prefer something a little drier.
Grayson: Chardonnay it is.

But, you guys didn't think the writers were going to let us see Jane and Grayson be a couple that quickly, did you? C'mon, it took five seasons for Grayson to even know Jane's real identity!

Despite the fact that they didn't go on a real date, I saw them getting closer anyway. Between Jane running to Grayson's rescue when he was arrested on his Banksy-ish case and their flirty gestures in the office, it was still cute.

As Jane mentioned, she has new taste buds. Even though she meant it literally, I took it as a bit of a metaphor too. Grayson has to get to know Jane as new Jane, not pick up where things were with Deb. It's a whole new person essentially.

So are you glad Jane and Grayson are taking it slow?

Jane is elated when she gets to co-counsel on the case of rock star Liam Matthews, played by Rick Springfield in Drop Dead Diva Season 6 Episode 3.

However, Jane's co-counselor is the new lawyer Belinda. Despite a good first impression, it turns out that Belinda doesn't always play nicely with others. In fact she's pretty possessive and full of herself.

Jane is so irritated that despite helping her client, she makes a backhanded please for former nemesis Kim to come off of maternity leave!

Meanwhile, Grayson finds himself representing a Banksy type of client.

Well, nobody said that Grayson and Jane were going to have it easy once he found out the truth.

Drop Dead Diva Season 6 Episode 4 brought Grayson and Jane together on a case that hit a little too close to home.

Grayson represented his friend Seth who wanted to honor his late wife's wishes to be buried in their backyard. The parents wanted her buried in a family plot. Jane was assigned to the case and it probably wasn't the best idea.

In light of the latest revelations, Jane and Grayson forget that they still have to navigate through all of that time Grayson spent thinking he'd lost his soul mate. Jane reminds Grayson that sometimes a body is just a body, not the essence of a person.

After all, that essence may just have taken residence in the body of your new coworker! Grayson argued that when he thought Deb was really gone, having some of her physical stuff still in the house is what helped him through some rough times.

Sometimes it takes good ol' Stacy to help Jane see the light.

Still, I don't think Grayson should have forbidden her from speaking to the client. If he felt that strongly, maybe he should've suggested they not pair up on the case. Then again, this was a topic that was particularly sensitive to Grayson and he may have too biased. But maybe his passion helped them win the case.

In the end, Seth got his wish. Jane and Grayson realized they needed to make these moments count, while they are alive and together. And, alas, a sweet kiss was had on the balcony!

I think as long as those two realize that they are navigating totally new waters and keep that in mind, they will be able to make it work. Just Stacy pointed out to Jane when she was torn between Deb's perfume and Jane's perfume, this new Jane is a combination of both. She's something brand new.

It was great to see Kim back this week and in her element.

Of course I'm fine. I may be lactating, but I still know how to play a judge.

Kim

Her case was a total tearjerker, with an ending I didn't see coming. I like when I'm not able to predict the outcome of a case because sometimes with television that can be common.

I think Kim's new position as a mother is giving her new perspective on her cases. I'm so glad there was a happy ending for all.

So are you glad to have Kim back? Vote below and sound off in the comments!

Grayson takes on the case of an old friend in Drop Dead Diva Season 6 Episode 4

The case was his friend Seth who wanted his late wife's wishes honored to be buried in their backyard. Her parents argued against this.

With Jane as the co-counsel, she and Grayson didn't see eye to eye. Jane thinks that in light of everything they had gone through, sometimes a body is just a body. Grayson argued that sometimes the physical representations of a lost loved ones can bring comfort.

Meanwhile Kim's back and teamed up with Owen on a case for a kid in the foster care system. Was it successful? Watch Drop Dead Diva online to find out!

Will Maffia be a fair and impartial judge... or is Jane going to have to work harder than ever to win this one over?

Drop Dead Diva Review: Pretty Little Liar

Janel Parrish made a visit to Drop Dead Diva Season 6 Episode 5 as a cheerleader, Chelsea, who claims she is being victimized and bullied by the rest of the squad.

But like the good Pretty Little Liar she is, Chelsea actually stages the entire situation - and getting on Jane's bad side is never a good idea.

Although a scorned Jane makes for a lot of fun when she's taking down everyone in the courtroom, it's unfortunate that Chelsea decides to stage the entire thing so she can turn her viral video into a lifetime of fame.

Grayson and Owen, meanwhile, use seceding from the United States as a way to get a family out of a lien the government has put on their house.

Drop Dead Diva has done some pretty odd cases in its time and I'm usually all for it, but this one just falls flat. Seceding from the nation seems like quite a big move for a safety issue like speed bumps. Thankfully, the case does not dominate the installment.

Instead, Jane and Grayson's sex life did...

... or the lack of one, we should say.

Jane and Grayson are in this situation where they are still trying to be the people they once were. Grayson, particularly, is in this situation where he is unsure of what role to play.

His relationship with Deb is the one he tends to default to in his relationship with Jane and I think knowing that his Deb is in there now makes it hard for him to see Jane and Deb together as one person. His adjustment period is still going on when it comes to Jane, especially since Jane is a very different person from where Grayson last saw Deb.

There's a definite adjustment period going on for the audience too in regards to Grayson and Jane.

It's sometimes difficult to watch Grayson play that catch up of knowing Jane's secret, and not quite knowing what to do with it. He's constantly stumbling over his own decisions in comparison to Jane's relationship with Stacy, as they have largely moved past all of their prior issues and the two are successful in being friends on new terms and interests in life.

Finally, Teri's attempts to help Paul come from a place of love (and personal gain).

Teri's usually one to strike out on her own and Drop Dead Diva Season 6 especially has been kicking Teri's independence up. Teri would certainly make a good lawyer on her own, as Ms. Muffintop shows, but it's a shame that Teri goes through the plan and ends up with jail time because of it.

Sure, Jane would be mad at Paul for what he did, but a quick chat and Jane could probably get everything sorted out.

At least Teri gets to cross another thing off her bucket list.

Is Grayson going to figure out how to have a new relationship with Jane?

Vegas is coming to Drop Dead Diva.

Ventriloquist Terry Fator - the winner of America's Got Talent in 2007 and a headliner at The Mirage Hotel in Sin City - will be dropping by the Lifetime series this summer to portray (shocker!) a ventriloquist.

On the June 1 episode, Fator plays Greg, who (along with his wisecracking puppet, Micky) has a case against an airline for cancelling both of their frequent flier accounts.

In this sneak peek from the installment, Greg sits down with attorney Kim Kaswell (Kate Levering) for a consult on his case - but how will the often frosty Kim react when Micky starts hitting on her? Find out in this exclusive clip, courtesy of Lifetime.

Drop Dead Diva Season 6 airs Sundays at 9/8c on Lifetime.

Drop Dead Diva Review: Sounds of Silence

One word the woman you're dating never wants to hear about herself? Irrational

Despite his apology, Grayson really couldn't catch a break on Drop Dead Diva Season 6 Episode 6/

Kim Gravel

It wasn't until he said nothing at all that things started to unfold the way they should. Ah, the sweet sounds of silence sometimes speak volumes.

But prior to a very lovely ending that led to Jane and Grayson finally putting their issues to bed (pun intended), the two were assigned an intense case.

It must be a little unnerving to be assigned to a case and escorted from your office without knowing anything about it. I admit that I was getting a bit frustrated that nobody was informing Jane and Grayson about this. How were they supposed to defend their client?

Hold on, excuse me. Who exactly are we representing? Oh my god is this about the Justin Bieber deportation?

Jane

It was great to see Liz from Nip/Tuck as the judge, though.

Jane and Grayson's client was targeted and held in jail because of a greedy company. She was visibly shaking and terrified. I understand the need for national security, but shame on you, Grabzilla.

Then there was the alleged do-gooder couple who felt so bad for the Bowen orphans that they took them in and offered them their own rooms. It was all a stunt to get their home remodeled for half a million dollars on a home improvement show. Another example of greed!

Has anyone else noticed that Kim Kaswell has become the unofficial children's lawyer at Harrison & Parker since she returned from her maternity leave? Grayson was right:

Motherhood must've altered your brain chemistry.

Grayson [to Kim]

I'm glad she decided to go out with "the help" in the end. The old Kim was stuck up, but the new Kim really has changed. Besides, Kim got knocked up by the head of a law firm and where did that get her? He abandoned her! Date who you want, regardless of their "status."

I'm in agreement with Temp Dave that I wouldn't date someone who wouldn't want to date me because they don't think my job is good enough. It's lame and superficial.

Lastly, we had Stacy and the whole evil baby storyline. I'm sure if I ever reproduce, I will be nothing short of an intensely neurotic pregnant woman... but c'mon Stacy.

The real Stacy storyline that I care about is Owen's feelings for her. That moment when she cut the cake (yay twins!) and his face fell, you could tell he was just so heartbroken that he wasn't more a part of things. I'm glad that Jane gave him advice to go for it. I hope he does.

What do you say, are Stacy and Owen meant to be?
